The Town of Mooresville is engaged in community development through the use of federal funding from the US. Department of Housing and Urban Development and through innovative partnerships with local area non-profit organizations. This program strives to increase homeownership within communities, eliminate and reduce blighted neighborhood conditions, and to rehabilitate existing housing for qualified homeowners earning low and moderate incomes. There are two local organizations that can provide the assistance to qualifying homeowners with weatherization or urgent home repair needs. Our Towns Habitat for Humanity can provide assistance with a wide range of critical home repairs to qualifying low-income homeowners within their Mooresville assistance area. I-Care, Incorporated of Statesville offers the U.S. Department of Energy's Weatherization Assistance Program free to qualifying low-income households, particularly the elderly, persons with disabilities, and households with children. This program is offered to provide energy-saving strategies for heating and cooling in single-family, multi-family, and mobile homes. I-Care, Incorporated of Statesville also offers these weatherization and energy saving programs to qualifying tenants providing landlords are willing to participate in the programs.
