Deaton Named Fire Chief
Town Manager Erskine Smith announced today that Curt Deaton has been named Fire Chief for Mooresville Fire-Rescue. Deaton has served as Interim Fire Chief since July 1 when Fire Chief Wes Greene retired. A third generation Mooresville firefighter, Deaton began volunteering with Mooresville Fire Department in 1993. Since joining the staff in 1996, he has served as Firefighter, Engineer, Fire Captain and Battalion Chief. Deaton has served as Assistant Fire Chief since 2007.
Free Compost Available
The Iredell County Solid Waste Facility, located at 354 Twin Oaks Road in Statesville, has compost available at no cost while supplies last to Iredell County residents.
